Overview

What this engagement is

Most people have no way to judge whether four lakhs for a website is fair or absurd, and the person quoting is not impartial. Forward the quote and the scope document and a senior engineer reads it the way we would read a competitor's proposal: what is actually being promised, what is conspicuously missing, whether the number matches the work, and which clauses would worry us. You get a written verdict and the questions to put back to the vendor. We do not bid for the work we are reviewing.

Deliverables

What lands in your repositories

4 items
  • A written verdict on whether the price is low, fair or high for the described scope
  • A list of what the scope leaves out that usually turns into extra invoices later
  • Three to five specific questions to send back to the vendor
  • A note on any commercial term worth pushing back on, such as ownership or hosting lock-in

Outcomes

What changes once it ships

An impartial read from people who price this work for a living

The specific questions that expose a vague scope before you sign

Confidence to approve a fair quote rather than stalling on it

Process

How the 4 stages run

  1. 01

    Forward

you send the quote, the scope document and any email thread that matters

  2. 02

    Read

a senior engineer reviews it against what the work realistically takes

  3. 03

    Judge

we write the verdict, the gaps and the questions to ask

  4. 04

    Discuss

one round of follow-up questions answered in writing

Booked most often by

  • Founders commissioning their first build with nobody impartial to ask
  • Marketing or operations leads approving technical spend
  • Anyone choosing between two proposals that are hard to compare

What we need from you

  • The quote itself and whatever scope or proposal document came with it
  • One line on your budget expectation and your deadline

These are collected in the technical brief that opens in your dashboard the moment payment clears. The clock starts when they arrive, not before.

Answers

Questions this engagement raises

No. We do not bid on anything we review here. If you later want us to quote, ask separately and we will tell you.

Then we say it is fine and tell you why, which is worth knowing. Most reviews end somewhere in the middle.

Yes, send both. Comparing them is often more useful than judging either alone.

This is engineering work, not a physical product — nothing ships and there is no stock to run out of. Delivery is to the working days stated above, into systems you control, and the refund terms set out what happens if we miss the date.
